Book Care Skills

Since it's been awhile since our Otters initially learned book care skills, we are reviewing these in class. We hope you'll help support these at home as well.

  1. Have a safe place to keep books at home. (Away from pets and younger siblings!)

  2. Please don't have food or water near books.

  3. When carrying books, hold them like a treasure or a football. (Have your child show you!)

  4. Don't "dog ear" your pages. Use a bookmark. We give them out in class.

  5. Turn you pages slowly at the top or bottom corner on the right hand page.

  6. Please return your book the following week.

Kindergarteners will bring home a book starting the first week of October!

Thanks for supporting your child's library learning. It's so great to have the kids back in the library.
