Summer Reading!

Happy Summer to You and Yours! WE are all hoping that you are off to a great summer! We hope you have time to just relax and be off the screens.


If you and yours are looking for ways to access real books, try:


· Brick and Mortar Books in Redmond…owned by a former Issaquah school teacher

· Half Price Books in Redmond. (They have a summer reading program.)

· Island Books on Mercer Island

· Third Place Books in Seattle

· Small Threads in Issaquah

· Value Village in Issaquah & Redmond for gently used books

· Visit a little neighborhood library (There is one at Ebright Park!)

· Or organize a book swap in the neighborhood!

· KCLS is opening for in-person library services on July 8th


Still need books and aren’t tired of screens?


· Epic is available for 2 hours a week click here for more information.

· Sora is available as well, use Clever to access it. Need help using Sora use these videos.

· Capstone + Buncee Virtual Summer Camp Adventures. More information on the Creekside Library Website.

· Read Camp & Caribu with Malcolm Mitchell. More information on the Creekside Library Website.

Reading during the summer makes a big difference in children’s success in school. Plus, it can be relaxing and enjoyable. Happy Reading!

PS Here is a book recommendation for parents, When Books Went to War: The Stories That Helped Us Win World War II by Molly Guptill Manning. This book highlights the power and importance of reading.
